about
This track started out as more of a hill country blues song, much like many versions of the traditional folk song "John Henry". In May upon learning of the unjust and unwarranted deaths of different black people at the hands of police, I asked some friends to collaborate distantly and it became Beat the Machine. Just like John Henry, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Elijah Mclain, and too many others to name here have lost their life at the hands of a machine.
